Wynwood Walls

Have you ever been to a neighborhood to look at its walls? It might sound like a strange idea but in Miami's Wynwood district that is the thing to do. The majority of the buildings there are covered with colorful graffiti giving you the impression that you are walking amid an artist's sketchbook. Within a five minute walk, you will be able to spot a gigantic birthday cake, a psychedelic black and white striped facade or a woman wearing a bird mask.

These mind-blowing gigantic drawings are an easy (and free!) way to entertain the kids for an hour or two. Wynwood is the perfect place to introduce your little ones to art. You'll be worlds away from the stiffness of an art gallery and won't have to worry about your kid touching the art.

The idea behind the Wynwood Walls project came from Tony Goldman, a famous real estate developer who specialized in revitalizing urban neighborhoods and igniting street life. He explains: "Wynwood’s large stock of warehouse buildings, all with no windows, would be my giant canvases to bring to them the greatest street art ever seen in one place."
