KATYA LIBIN, CO-FOUNDER HEYMAMA, IN BROOKLYN

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

Katya Libin is influential and incredible inspirational just like the members of Heymama, a network of powerful women she co-founded. She started this company a few years ago with Amri Kibbler, a mom she met by accident at the playground: "we kept going there and we were not finding the connections we wanted. We thought it should be easier to meet like-minded moms." In only a couple of years, they managed to create a powerful tribe of women who collaborate and help each other out through diverse events and social media.

Originally from New York, Katya has been living in Brooklyn Heights for two years. "I wanted a more relaxed life, I thought Brooklyn would be a great place to live with my daughter Liliana, especially because of the amazing schools."

IN BROOKLYN WITH KATYA LIBIN

Eating out with her daughter. Noodle Pudding. A classic Italian restaurant serving large and delicious portions of comfort food. It's cash-only and they don't take reservations. Oh, and I also love the name.

Colonie. American food. Very yummy and great for brunch.

Grabbing a snack with her daughter. Brooklyn Farmacy and Soda Fountain. It's a family-friendly place with delicious sundaes.

Having fun with her daughter on a sunny day. I like going to Dumbo, there is a beautiful playground on the water and rock climbing walls at Dumbo Boulders. The Brooklyn Botanical Garden is also a great place to go to when you want to be out and about.

Having fun with her daughter on a rainy day. The Brooklyn Children's Museum is pretty incredible, I believe it was the first children's museum in New York.

A cultural activity with her daughter. I take the kids to the China Institute to learn about Chinese culture, they have a lot of interactive workshops and their exhibitions are great for little ones.

A kid-friendly hotel. A couple of friends stayed at the NU hotel in downtown Brooklyn and liked it a lot. I've also heard good things about Hotel Indigo.

A day trip with her daughter. The Hamptons. The kids get to run around outside and there are many fun things to do such as feeding the ducks, visiting libraries or taking classes of different kinds.

Shopping for her daughter. In Manhattan, I like Egg in Tribeca, Yoya in the West village and Babesta.

Sources of information to keep up to date with family-friendly events. Mommy Poppins and Time Out Kids.
