The Flamingo Gardens offers so many interesting attractions it might keep you busy for an entire day. The highlight of your visit will be the Children's Garden, an interactive garden where kids can touch and smell various plants and will enjoy signage adapted to them. The Everglades Wildlife Sanctuary will also be a hit among little ones as they will be able to see alligators, big cats, eagles, otters, panthers, peacocks and, of course, flamingos! And if your little one loves trains, don't miss the narrated tram tour among 'Florida's Jungle'.

GUMBO LIMBO NATURE CENTER. A scavenger hunt in Florida's wilderness.

A wonderful visit which will immerse your family in Florida's fauna and flora. The park is pretty low-key and offers two nature trails, aquariums and a sea turtle rehabilitation center where little ones will learn the importance of caring for endangered species.

To help children enjoy their visit, the Gumbo Limbo Nature Center came up with amazing scavenger hunts, coloring pages and word search games, free for download on their site. Don't forget to print a couple of them before your visit.

SAWGRASS NATURE CENTER. A wildlife hospital.

If you want your children to learn the importance of being good environmental stewards, this is the perfect place to start. The Sawgrass Nature Center serves as a hospital for sick, injured and orphaned wildlife. You will be able to wander around the center and see around thirty different animals that live on site year round.
