De Young

"We love the terrace where kids can play while enjoying your lunch and the sun ! A kids menu also is available." | Stéphanie Ross, Co-Founder Les Petits Carreaux.
One museum you don’t want to miss. It offers an incredible mix of American paintings, Arts of the Americas, Textile, as well as Oceanic and Africa Arts. The last two galleries display gigantic wooden masks and accessories, which will most likely impress the little ones.
Thankfully, there are couple of other perks that make the De Young a pretty family-friendly museum. There are lots of open spaces between the galleries, where kids can run around in between visits or, if needed, for parents to take turn touring a gallery in peace. The other perks for kids are: the observation tower perching you up above the city and letting you enjoy spectacular 360-degree views of the town, and the garden of the museum coffee shop filled with funny sculptures.
Last but not least, every Saturday the De Young offers free craft classes for kids 4 to 12 in order to facilitate family visits. For hours and registration, visit their website.
