CHLOÉ FLEURY, ILLUSTRATOR, IN SAN FRANCISCO
Written by Charlotte Burgoyne.
Chloé Fleury can turn sheets of construction paper into gorgeous decorative animal heads, houses, trees, vehicles, people, a « playstation » or even a Mc Donald's « happy meal box ». She does « paper art » in a colorful, fun and modern way for magazines, brands and blogs such as Gap Baby, Milk Magazine, Target, McDonald’s and Oh Joy ! A very unique talent for a very unique mama. French native, 2 kids, Chloé Fleury developped her paper art illustration skills when she moved to San Francisco, a city that seems to be a perfect match for the artist. Chloé’s life is filled with colors. She likes to mix and match them in her creations, her home, her studio and her personal style. Living in a place where colorful houses are at every corner is an incredible source of inspiration.
HER SAN FRANCISCO
Eating with your girls. Outerlands - Next to the beach and good food. We usually put our name on the list and go have a walk on the beach. By the time we come back there’s always a table waiting for us.
Grabbing a snack. Craftman and Wolves, Tartine, or La Boulangerie - I like these places because there is a lot of space and communal tables where it is easy to meet up with friends and their kids.
Shopping for the girls. Mudpie, Tantrum, Fiddlesticks, Mapamundi Kids, Nest, Peek and online shops. Great ones are based in SF such as Sunday in color from by my friend Sonia, Bitte and Over The Ocean.
A rainy day activity with your girls. The California Academy Of Sciences, Peek-a-boo factory, movies, crafting, painting...
A sunny day activity with your girls. On the weekends, we go to Mission, Dolores or Precita Park.
How to spend nap time? We like to go back home for naptime to use the time to work. If we are out for the day, we try to be in the car when the girls need to sleep.
