BOMBAY | ABODE
By Julie Wouters from familytripinindia and Charlotte Burgoyne. The Abode seems to come straight out of our imagination. We're crushing on every corner of this boutique hotel in Bombay. The floors are laid with hand-made cement tiles by a Mumbai tile-maker using a 100 year old technique, the fabrics throughout the hotel are made by a collective of local women, the colonial furniture has been bargained in local flea markets. This decor is infused by the impeccable tastes and the love for Bombay of the founders of the Abode, Abedin Sham et Lizzie Chapman. They managed to revive Bombay's bohemian's past and cultural heritage. The Abode is a chic, laid back and also really kid-friendly accommodation.Cookies are offered to little ones all day long, to use as snacks or to collect as presents for street kids. There is a little library nestled in the lobby, and an all-day cafe, two great cozy corners for families to relax together outside of their room.[supsystic-gallery id=76]Little Voyageurs also loves the peace room. This little relaxing nest is for you to use to meditate or do yoga, alone or with your tribe. L'Abode also offers massages in the on-premise spa.Ideally located in the bustling neighborhood of Coloba, the Abode makes it easy to walk to several attractions, and each week a new shop or bar opens around the hotel.Little Voyageurs loves:❤ The retro chic ambiance. ❤ The colonial design furniture. ❤ The peace room.❤ The all day cafe.
