VERDE (PEREZ ART MUSEUM MIAMI)

The architecture of the Perez Art Museum building alone (Herzog & De Meuron) makes it worth a visit. Not to mention the vertical garden, huge teak terrace with its wired swings and a breathtaking view of Biscayne Bay.

Let's have brunch at Verde, the PAMM waterfront restaurant with Miami Beach views. Get a table outside if possible so that you can enjoy the breezy air while the children play and hang around until their sweet potato pancakes (with hazelnuts, fruit compote, and creme fraîche) are served. They can also have chicken or pasta, although it's best to ask the waiter directly. For adults, Smoked Salmon Benedict, vegetable frittata, cheeseburgers, salads... Every dish is tasty.

Then grab a take away coffee and walk over to the huge grass field just in front of the museum (Park Museum) where children can let off as much steam as they like.

(Tip: book in advance and arrive before noon for brunch if you want to be seated on the terrace.)
