Vagabond

If you are curious about Miami's upcoming neighborhood and want to connect to the city's art scene, the Vagabond will be a good place to stay. First open in 1953, the hotel underwent renovation to reopen as a 'boutique motel'. The vibe of the past is still there; the building kept its original U shape with rooms opening on to the central courtyard and the big 'motel' sign right off the road still stands out.

In an effort to open up to families, the hotel will accommodate you with the quietest room - just be sure to call them a couple of days before your arrival. If you have children sensitive to noise you might want to avoid coming to the hotel on a Friday or Saturday night as there is often live music playing by the pool on these days.

The pool, the local art displayed around the property and the artsy colorful rooms will be great distractions for little ones. You will appreciate the free breakfast and the delicious on-site restaurant.
