For the longest time, heading to Red Hook meant looking for DIY furniture. Home to Ikea, this neighborhood on the West Coast of Brooklyn, has been attracting new businesses and is a great place to walk around for a couple of hours. The little park has a path running along the water and offers pretty views over the Southern tip of Manhattan. The following are family-friendly hangouts to eat at (Hometown Bar-B-Que), snack at (Baked) or shop at (Foxy & Winston).
