Entering Polished Coconut is like taking a quick trip to Latin America. In a bright and airy space you will find incredible colonial Mexican furniture mixed with lots of decor items that will make great additions to any kids' - or adult! - rooms such as colorful bedspreads, carpets or floor pillows. This lifestyle store also carries 'mochillas' - traditional Colombian handmade handbags. They come in different sizes - perfect for a mini & me look - and each of them has a unique mix of pattern and color. If you are into vintage clothes, the store also has one-of-a-kind vintage clothing pieces from Cuba, Mexico and various indigenous tribes.

"My grandmother was from Mexico and I lived there myself. I even gave birth to two of my four children there. I have a big interest in anthropology and it is important for me to help promote local artisans by offering them a fair price for their work. That is why I created Polished Coconut eight years ago. I was mainly doing truck shows and pop-up events but I finally managed to open my store in December 2015" explains Alicia, the founder of Polished Coconut.
