ODETTE WILLIAMS, FOUNDER ODETTE WILLIAMS, IN BROOKLYN
Odette Williams finds real happiness in food and always has. “When I was little, I would always leave for school asking my mom what we were going to eat for dinner. Looking forward to a good meal at the end of the day would keep me going,” she confesses. Passing her passion for food on to the next generation is very important to Odette and that is why she created ODETTE WILLIAMS, a brand specializing in adorable kids kitchen accessories. Based in Brooklyn, this native Australian mom of two loves discovering her adopted city whilst on the look out for delicious places to try. She shares her favorites with us.
IN BROOKLYN WITH ODETTE WILLIAMS
Eating out with the kids. Frankie’s. What kid doesn’t love homemade pasta?
Buttermilk Channel. Brunch, lunch or dinner. It’s a hit.
Prime Meats. Yummy burgers, steak, fries and cocktails for the parents.
Snacktime with the kids. Farmacy Soda Fountain is in our neighborhood and is great for shakes, grilled cheeses and sundaes.
Shopping for the kids. Acorn. They have a lovely selection of independent brands.
Having fun with the kids on a sunny day. We walk everywhere. Down to Dumbo, along the Brooklyn Piers, over the Brooklyn Bridge to Chinatown, ride the East River Ferry to Williamsburg.
Have fun on a rainy day. Our local cinema in Cobble Hill, which always has great kids movies.
A cultural activity with the kids. I took the kids to the BAM kids film festival and it was so great. They got to see stories about other children’s lives that are very different from the one they’re living in Brooklyn. It’s always great for them to be exposed to life outside of Brooklyn.
One word that best describe Brooklyn. Diverse.
