GOA | ELSEWHERE
By Julie Wouters from familytripinindia and Charlotte Burgoyne. On the side of the road, fields of rice, chillies and onions stretch as far as the eyes can see. Suddenly, the ocean and a majestic beach appear on the horizon. We drive down to get closer to the water, and come across Elsewhere. We are in a tourist free part of India where only knowledgeable adventurers wander. The "secret hotel" lies on an old coconut plantation dating from 1886.Four charming houses welcome guests, all built and decorated in a traditional way: thick cool walls, natural materials on the floor, an inclined roof covered with terra cota tiles; and retro furniture. Each house has a terrace with day beds to glimpse at the ocean during the day and the stars at night. There are also luxury tents on the property, a low-key restaurants and a yoga center within walking distance. At Elsewhere, there is no wifi, no 4G, no tv…which really makes you feel like you are at the end of the world, living as Robinson on his desert island. We spend our days lounging on our breathtaking terrace or on the beach, walk ten times on the little pretty little paths leading to the beach, try surfing, build sandcastles, chase lizards, listen to the wild birds...Our only regret was not to be able to stay longer.[supsystic-gallery id='100']Photos by Julie Wouters.Little Voyageurs loves:❤ The paradisiac, tourist free, wild location.❤ The absence of wifi, 4G & tv.❤ The family-friendly rooms neatly decorated.
