Your exploration of Florida's flora will start a little before Fairchild's entrance. The last part of the road that will take you there is covered by a gorgeous canopy of banyan and ficus trees. Known as Old Cutler Road, it definitely rates as one of the most picturesque gardens of Miami.

Once you reach Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden hop on the tram that goes around the property. Your kids will love it and get into a good mood from the rest of the day! The second highlight of your visit will be the enclosed butterfly garden where the winged creatures fly around your head.

Every second and fourth weekend of the month, the Fairchild hosts 'Let's Explore at Fairchild' (LEAF) family programs consisting of themed activities to help kids connect with nature. They will be able to do craft, play science themed games, participate in planting activities and much more!

TIP: Prior to your visit, print out the LEAF Explorer's Guide coloring book leaflet.
