ÉMILIE DUCHÊNE, FOUNDER & DESIGNER THEA JEWELRY, IN BRUSSELS

After a few years in Paris to get her career started, Émilie Duchêne decided to go back to her native city, Brussels, where she's raising her two daughters and founded her brand, Thea Jewelry. Her line of handmade jewelry, carved in gold or silver, adorns celebrities such as Sarah Jessica Parker and Beyonce Knowles.

IN THE CITY OF BRUSSELS WITH ÉMILIE DUCHÊNE

Eating out with the kids. Chalet Robinson. We travel there on a little boat as the restaurant is on an island, which the kids love!  After eating a meal, they can play outside in nature with the ducks or they can hop on a boat to sail around the island.

Garage à MangerA great place for dinner, lunch, or even brunch, with mouthwatering plates and a great atmosphere. Garage à Manger belongs to Joël Geismar, a local chef famous for his food truck, El Camion. The brunch is an all-you-can-eat buffet and breakfast is served here every day of the week. In addition to all this, the place is spacious making strollers and kids almost unnoticeable!

La Fabrique. Family-friendly atmosphere, great brunch and little toys for the kids to play with.

Grabbing a snack with the kids.  Cook and Book. A very welcoming place for families, Cook and Book is filled with toys, a cabana and a store full of wonderful potential gifts. Playful and relaxing!

Balmoral. A playful eatery with a kids corner that is filled with toys and video games. Also has a large and wonderful dessert selection.

Shopping for the kidsMercredi. A multi-brand store with pretty clothes and decor objects.

Boucle d’or. Nice staff and pretty brands. Great place to decorate a nursery.

Bellerose. A laid-back shop with great quality items.

Claude Hontoir. A great place to buy a gift, and it is also open on Sundays.

An outdoor activity with the kids. Parc de la Sauvagère. A cute and well maintained park with a playground and a little zoo.

Ferme de Fond Roy. A great little farm for a Sunday outing (only open one Sunday a month). Kids can pet and feed animals, carry rabbits and ride a donkey-drawn carriage.

Bois de la Cambre. A pretty park with lots of water, where you can ride ponies on the weekend or feed the ducks on the lake. There's a coffee shop named La Patinoire where you can grab a quick snack.

An indoor activity with the kidsLe Musée des Enfants. Full of fun activities for the kids and they even organize birthday parties on request. We also like going to Ratinet for a puppet show.
