The area has seen many hotels come and go over the years but Haus Hirt is in a league of its own.As we arrived, we were instantly wowed by the far-reaching views to distant mountain trains weaving their way through the stunning scenery. And we just carried on being impressed the more we walked around the hotel: the ambience is really relaxed (families, couples and singles all mix seamlessly), the décor is quirky but beautiful, and it’s amazingly family-friendly.The rates are all full-board so there’s no hassle on the food front. We loved the breakfast buffet, especially the organic porridge with fruit compotes – perfect fuel for a day of hiking. Afternoon tea, with its irresistible cakes, was a hit with our 10-year-old daughter, and dinner from the daily changing menu was absolutely scrummy. There is a separate kids’ menu and a set time for children to eat together in the restaurant if they want to, so they are very well looked after.The free kids club has on-tap nannies 7 days a week and loads of thought and imagination goes into the suggested daily activities for adults and kids alike. We didn’t see our daughter for hours at a time as she took off for archery lessons or mini-golf or late-night fire pit ghost story-telling. This left us grown-ups with plenty of time to rejuvenate in the Aveda spa – we’re talking re-balancing massages, facials, wraps, body therapies, even doctor's check-ups. They tailor the programme to you so you feel very spoilt indeed.There are lots of options for activities for the whole family to enjoy together too – we spent 3 days on guided hikes up pretty forested slopes, where we passed majestic waterfalls and picked wild mushrooms and blueberries before lunching at the top of the mountain.Little Voyageurs loves:❤ Stunning views of the mountains and valley❤ A floor devoted to rejuvenating spa treatments – we were spoilt for choice❤ The cool sunken bar area❤ The beautiful living space and décor❤ Daily itineraries and activities for families – both indoor and outdoor❤ Guided hikes for the whole family❤ Full board rates – the food was delicious
